The Peru EMS Junior Explorers are composed of local teenagers between the ages of 14 and 21. The exploring program is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between the youth, Peru EMS and the community. This program can potentially provide career opportunities, develop leadership skills, life skills, and improve citizenship and character education. For explorers to be allowed to ride along on the ambulance they have to complete a CPR class provided by the EMT’s, they have to pass the HIPPA law test and the blood born pathogen test. They must attend all trainings and meetings.
